Prof. Shamshad Hussain Babar (Ali Babar):

Mr. Ali Babar is a renowned Punjabi Poet and writer of our city Kanganpur. His real name is Shamshad Hussain Babar. Mr. Ali Babar was born on 11th March 1981 in the house of Ashiq Hussain and Late Hanifaan Begum. Ali Babar lives at Kot Mirza Haji Muhammad near Government Girls High School Kanganpur Tehsil Chunian District Kasur. His father is retired SST Headmaster Government Elementary School Kanganpur. Mr. Ali Babar belongs to a respectable and educated family.

Education

Mr. Ali Babar got his early education from Government Elementary School Kanganpur, passed middle standard exam from Government High School Kotha Kalan. He did matriculation from Government Higher Secondary School Kanganpur in 1999 and F. A from Government Higher Secondary School Kanganpur in 2001. Mr. Ali Babar was topper of Matric and F. A and his name is written on the boards of honour of Government Higher Secondary School Kanganpur. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Arts from University of The Punjab Lahore as a private student in 2004.

Ali Babar obtained the degree of Master of Arts in History from Punjab University Lahore as a private student in 2008. Ali Babar did M. Sc Gender & Women’s Studies in 2010 from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad. Then Mr. Ali Babar passed Master of Arts in Punjabi from University of The Punjab Lahore as a private student in 2016.

Moreover, he obtained the degree Master of Philosophy in Punjabi Language & Literature from University Oriental College Punjab University Lahore in 2019. Mr. Ali Babar did PTC in 2004 and Bachelor of Education in 2007 from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad and did M. Ed from Islamia University of Bhawalpur in 2011. He also obtained six months computer diploma as well.

Job History

Ali Babar started Government service in 2002 as Assistant Line Man in LESCO WAPDA which continued for one year. He joined Pakistan Post Office department in 2003 as Postal Clerk cum Post Master. He joined Punjab School Education Department as Elementary School Educator at Government Primary School Kot Changian Markaz Kanganpur from 1st January 2005 to 23rd October 2009. Ali Babar worked as Elementary School Teacher at Government High School Kanganpur from 23rd October 2009 to 9th July 2021.

Mr. Ali Babar selected as Lecturer in Punjabi through Punjab Public Service Commission Lahore. So he joined as Lecturer in Punjabi at Government Associate College Akanwala Bangla Chichawatni District Sahiwal from 10th July 2021 to till now.

Ali Babar is an excellent Punjabi Poet. His poetry book named “Chup Toon Baad” was published in 2013 by Sanjh Publications Lahore. His book “Chup Toon Baad” proved very successful book of its time.

Ali Babar received Shah Abbas Award Pattoki, Masud Khadarposh Trust Award Lahore, Ali Arshad Mir Foundation Award Lahore, Bibi Rabia Punjabi Ghazal Award Lahore, Literary Award Majlis Baba Nanak Lahore, Mehkaan Punjabi Adbi Board Award Sahiwal, Naqibi Carvan e Adab award Faisabad, Maan Boli Sevak Award Faisabad, Khawaja Abdul Hai Foundation Award Usmanwala, Sharif Academy Germany Poetry Award Lahore and Best Performance Award by Muncipal Committee Kanganpur on behalf of his book “Chup Toon Baad”.

Thesis on His Book “Chup To’n Baad”

In 2015, a student of B.S Honours (Punjabi) named Inam Jahangir of Government Post Graduate College For Women Samanabad Lahore submitted her research thesis on Mr. Ali Babar’s Punjabi Poetry Book ‘ Chup Toon Baad ‘. She wrote this research thesis under the supervision of Mam Prof. Dr. Fakhra Sujah Sahiba. The topic of her research thesis is “Ali Babar Di Kitab Chup Toon Baad Da Tanqidi Wairwa”. Research Work

Mr. Ali Babar is a prominent researcher as well. Ha has been working on his dream history project for 2014. The name of his history project is “The History of Sub-Continent Through Commemorative Stones”. Through this project, Mr. Ali Babar is trying to save the precious history written on commemorative stones affixed with the Pre-partitiion monuments of Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Mr. Ali Babar is doing this unique research under the supervision of Dr. Ibad Nabeel Shad Chairman Department of Punjabi Government Islamia College Railway Road Lahore.

Along with this Mr. Ali Babar submitted his M. Phil Punjabi research thesis under the supervision and guidance of Honourable Mam Prof. Dr. Nabila Rehman Sahiba Chairperson Department of Punjabi University Oriental College Punjab University Lahore on the topic of “History of The Punjab Through Inscriptional Monuments (British Era)”. In this research thesis, he saved the history of British times Inscriptional monuments of Punjab.

Ali Babar has special interest and passion for history. He is founding Admin of two popular Facebook pages i, e” Historical Research Society Pakistan” and “History of The Sub-Continent Through Inscriptions”.

Marriage

Mr. Ali Babar was married to Irum Shahzadi on 8th May 2016. He has three little daughters. The names of his daughters are Manat Fatima, Risham Fatima and Zainab Fatima.

Mr. Ali Babar is an excellent research photographer. He has covered a lot historic buildings and monuments of Punjab with his camera. Some historical buildings and monuments covered by Ali Babar are Lawrence College Ghora Gali Murree Hill, GPO buildings Lahore and Murree, Government College University Lahore, Punjab University Lahore, National College of Arts Lahore, University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences Lahore, Cathirdal Lahore, Darbar Hall Punjab Civil Secretiate, Holy Trinty Church Mall Road Murree Hill, National College of Arts Lahore, Archeological site of Harrapa and Buddhist monuments of Taxila. Mr. Ali Babar is a true Punjabi lover and activist. He is of the view that Mother language Punjabi is the most spoken language of Pakistan. But unluckily, Punjabi is deprived of basic language rights. Like other Provincial languages of Sindh, Baluchistan and Khybar Pakhtoonkha, Punjabi should be implemented in the province of Punjab. Punjabi should be medium of instruction from primary to degree classes in the educational institutions of Punjab.

Last but not least, Mr. Ali Babar has a deep love, affection and attachment with his city Kanganpur. Ali Babar along with his two friends Ashfaq Kaamal and Nabeel Nabar launched the website of Kanganpur i, e www.kanganpur.com. Whole team is working hard to present the positive impact of Kanganpur before the whole world.
