Government Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur is a grand beautiful college of Kanganpur locality. It is the only girls degree college of Kanganpur city. Govt Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur is located at Manak Day Kay road.

The fonder of this college is Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan Ex MPA & Parliamentary Secretary Literacy and Non Formal Education Punjab. The foundation stone of Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur was laid by Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan. According to Prospectus of Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur, Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan started his struggle to open this girls college on 1st September 2014.

According to a commemorative metal plate, inauguration of the college was done by Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister on 15th March 2013. But actually Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif did not come here for opening.

The opening of Govt Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur was done with the hands of Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan himself. On the special request of Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan, Chief Minister Punjab approved the name of this girls College as Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur. The college was named after Honourable Lady Late Chando Begum, the mother of Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan Ex MPA & Parliamentary Secretary Literacy and Non Formal Education Punjab.

Brief Life History of Honourable Lady Chando Begum

Honourable Lady Chando Begum was daughter of Muhammad Ashraf Khan of Pakka Sadhar near Pak Pattan Sharif. Then her family settled at Havaili Padhana. Honourable Lady Chando Begum was married to Ch. Yasin Khan Nambardar of Kanganpur. She had five sons named Ch. Ahmad Raza Khan Nambardar, Ch. Hashim Raza Khan, Ch. Hammad Raza Khan, Ch. Ahsan Raza Khan and Ch. Khalid Raza Khan. According to old women of her neighborhood, Honourable Lady Chando Begum was very God fearing and offered the prayers five times a day. She always tried her best to help poor families of surrounding area. She was died in 9th July 1986. Our administration tried our best to search a photograph of Honourable Lady Chando Begum. We succeeded in finding her photograph from one of her grandson Ch. Afsar Raza Khan Advocate.

Government Chando Begum Degree College For Women Kanganpur is running very smoothly under the administration of a Ph. D Lady. The name of learned Principal is Honourable Dr. Fatima Ijaz. She is Ph. D in Chemistry. Honourable Dr. Fatima Ijaz obtained the degree of Doctorate of Philosophy in Chemistry from Institute of Chemistry, University of The Punjab Lahore in 2019.
