A Tribute to Great Son of Kanganpur Sepoy Shoqat Hayat Martyr (Shaheed):
Introduction
Sepoy Shoqat Hayat Shaheed is certainly a great son of the soil of Kanganpur who sacrificed his young life for the defense of our beloved country Pakistan. Sepoy Shoqat Hayat Shaheed was born on 23rd October 1977 in the house of Muhammad Ismail and Charag Bibi at Kot Bismillah Kanganpur Tehsil Chunian District Kasur. Shoqat Hayat was the youngest of all two brothers and two sisters. The names of his brothers are Allah Yar and Muhammad Riaz.
Educational Journey
Sepoy Shoqat Hayat got his early education from Government Elementary School Kanganpur Tehsil Chunian District Kasur. This great son of Kanganpur got admission in 9th class in Government Higher Secondary School Kanganpur and got Secondary School Certificate in 1995. Sepoy Shoqat Hayat continued his further education and got admission in 1st year in the same Government Higher Secondary School Kanganpur. Shoqat Hayat obtained Higher Secondary School Certificate in 1997.
Job
Mr. Shoqat Hayat had a great passion to devote himself in serving of nation and country after joining belt force. So Mr. Shoqat Hayat joined Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) in June 1999 as a Sepoy under Sepoy # R 36750. After training, his first posting was made at 2 Wing Meraj Kay (Chanab Rangers).
Martyred Incident
Sepoy Shoqat Hayat was posted at Char Wah Sector Gandial post, 2 Wing Chenab Rangers Meraj Kay. On 18th September 2000, Indian forces suddenly attacked in the darkness of the night at 1:00 A. M.
The enemy was consisted upon at least sixty soldiers. Sepoy Shoqat Hayat took his position in his defense place (Morcha). He fought bravely with the enemy, killed many soldiers of enemy and made the courage of enemy downwarded.
He was caused of a lot of loss of lives and goods of the enemy. Sepoy Shoqat Hayat himself wounded too much with the firing of enemy and martyred at the spot. Now Char Wah Sector Gandial Post was renamed as Shoqat Shaheed Post.
Shaheed Shoqat Hayat buried with full protocol of a Shaheed by Highly ranked Rangers officers and soldiers in the Rangers Cemetery Kot Bismillah Kanganpur.
Awards and Others
This burial ceremony did under the command of Major Tariq Wing Commander. On 24th of September 2000, Maj.
General Zarar Azeem Director General Punjab Rangers visited the grave of Shaheed Sepoy Shoqat Hayat, presented his salute to the martyr, offered Fatiha and met Allah Yar, elder brother of Sepoy Shoqat Hayat.
On 16th December 2015, in recognition of the services of Shaheed Sepoy Shoqat Hayat, District Government Kasur awarded “Nishan e Kasur” to Shaheed Shoqat Hayat, the great son of the soil of Kanganpur.
