Gurdwara Principal Bara Singh is an old Monument. In the past, a lot of famous researchers including Baba Jee Iqbal Qaisar visited this old historic Gurudwara. But they took photographs from a distance from the street or from the top of the roof of front house as the Gurudwara Sahib locked. But We were very eager to visit interior and exterior of this Gurudwara closely.
Accommodation
So I requested my friend and big brother Waheed Kamran (Kasur Chorri House Kanganpur) to make an arrangement for our visit to this Gurudawara Sahib. Mr. Waheed Kamran arranged our visit with the help of Mr. Shan Ali Shani. On the direction of Bahi Waheed Kamran we contacted Mr. Shani for visit. He fully cooperated us in this context.
Gurudawar Location
This Gurudawara Sahib situated in Mohallah Moti Masjid Mandi Kanganpur. The Gurudawara Sahib was constructed by Principal Sardar Bara Wadhawa. The dome of the Gurudawara Sahib is still very beautiful and attractive.
The Gurudawara Sahib now used for accommodation. There were rooms for yatrees those rooms demolished now. Now the condition of Gurudawara Sardar Bara Singh Wadhawa Mandi Kanganpur is not good and needs to renovate.
Others
Muhammad Yousaf and his brothers lived in the premises of Gurudawara Sardar Bara Singh Wadhawa. Before partition of Sub-Continent, Parkash of Guru Granth Sahib was regularly done in Gurudawara Sardar Bara Singh Wadhawa but not done now as there is no Sikh population in Kanganpur area. This Gurudawara is a best master piece of Sikh Architecture.
Due to its historical importance, renowned researcher Baba Jee Iqbal Qaisar mentioned Gurdawara Principal Sardar Bara Singh Wadhawa Mandi Kanganpur in his world famous book “Historical Sikh Shrines in Pakistan“.
