About Research Thesis

Academic Research By Rizwan Fehmeed is another excellent and academic researcher of Kanganpur city. Mr. Rizwan Fehmeed submitted his research thesis of Master of Science (Hon) in Agronomy to Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture University of Agriculture Faisabad in 2015.

He submitted his research thesis under registration number 2009-ag-2190. The name of his research supervisor is Prof. Dr. Fahd Rasul Assistant Professor Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture Faisabad. The topic of his thesis is “Influence of Transplanting Time on Performance of Rice Hybrid under Semiarid Conditions of Faisabad”.

Mr. Rizwan Fehmeed discussed his research thesis under five chapters i, e “Introduction”, “Review of Literature”, “Materials and Mathods”, “Results and Discussion” and “Summary”.

Abstract

The abstract of this research thesis is this that this work conducted to investigate the performance of two genetically different rice hybrids, transplanted at eight different dates.

Traits: such as plants height, gain yield, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, total number of tillers, number of productive tillers, biological yield, harvest index, days to panicle initiation, days to psychological maturity, 1000-kernel weight, leaf area index, leaf area duration, crop growth rate and total dry matter were collected.

Two rice hybrids; cv- RH-362 and PHB-71 showed in the field following randomized complete block design with split plot arrangements in three replicates. under eight (4th week of April, 2nd week of May, 4th week of May, 2nd week of June, 4th week of June, 2nd week of July, 4th week of July, 2nd week of August) different Transplanting dates.

Analysis

The analysis of varianc indicated significant differences among hybrids as well as Transplanting dates irrespect of all studied traits.

Mean comparison analysis showed that the hybrids RH-362 showed better performance than PHB-71 in most of the traits except days to psychological maturity. Total number of tillers and total dry matter.

Similarly mean comparison among eight Transplanting dates exposed that the maximum value of the traits were recorded in Transplanting date of 2nd week of June except plants height, days to panicle initiation, days to psychological maturity, leaf area duration and crop growth rate which showed the maximum performance in Transplanting date of 4th week of April whereas harvest index and total dry matter showed the maximum result in Transplanting date of 2nd week of July and 4th week of May, respectively.

Others

Mean performance of leaf area index and crop growth rate continuously increased upto 75 days after maturity. And then decreased gradually up till maturity for both hybrids and Transplanting dates.

This study shows that RH-362 hybrids gave maximum grain yield when transplanted at 2nd week of June.
