Nazir Ahmad Zahid
Late Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid (1st January 1960- 25th January 2018) was a great writer and Poet. He did poetry both in Punjabi and Urdu. The names of his three Punjabi books are “Chan Da Parchawan” (1996), “Jind Tasehay Laindi Rahi” (2006) and “Udrawaan Akh Da” (2010). The names of his two Urdu books are “Aur Tanhai Kya Ho Gi” (2009) and “Ankhain Badal Aur Darya” (2017).
Late Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid was founder and life president of a literary organization named Punjabi Adbi Sanjh Kanganpur. He was also Chairman of Zahid Fun Fair Academy Kanganpur (Academy for new singers). As Chief Editor, Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid published a book series journal named “Preet” from Kanganpur.
Nazir Ahmad Zahid’s Profession
Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid was a multi talented personality. He was an excellent professional photographer, singer, painter, artist and film maker. He worked as writer, producer and director of a stage drama “Budha Sawa Lakh Da”. Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid worked as artist in two Punjabi stage dramas “Navi Mam Purana Sahib” and “Budha Pyar Mangda”. As writer, producer, cameraman and director, Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid made two popular Punjabi telefilms named “Ki Keeta Taqdeeray” (1995) and “Chan Badshah” (2002).
In recognition of literary services performed by Late Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid, Syed Farman Ali Shah (Kasur city), a scholar & researcher Master of Philosophy Punjabi Language & Literature University Oriental College Punjab University Lahore submitted his research thesis on the topic of “Nazir Ahmad Zahid Di Punjabi Ghazal: Fani Tay Fikari Tajzea” in 2019.
Ustad Nazir Ahmad Zahid worked as a literary nursery for new poets. No doubt, Zahid Sahib was a great writer and human. We always miss his presence. May Allah Almighty bless him paradise aameen.
